Business Practices Interchange (BPI) Rules and Regulations
The purpose of the BPI is to provide factual information to those seeking it about the payment and business practices of companies (good or bad) engaged in construction or construction related activities.

All comments about payment practices must be factual. Subjective or personal comments such as “bad pay”, “slow pay”, or “no pay” are not acceptable. Rather, you should state the payment terms of your contract and when payment was made. Since the sharing of current, factual information is the foundation of the BPI, you should provide any and all information as to why you haven’t been paid, even if the reason, in your view, lacks merit.

The same rules apply to the exchange of information about business practices. Not acceptable are opinions like “They ran a sloppy job”, or “They harass all subcontractors.” You can, however, factually comment about your experiences on a particular project, including how a contractor handled contract negotiations or requests for change orders. Be as factual as possible. Opinions or conclusions without fact will not be accepted.

Any and all information shared during the business practices interchange is solely for use by ASA-Houston Chapter members. Information communicated through the business practices interchange is not to be shared, communicated, or otherwise disclosed to any person or company not currently a member in the good standing of ASA-Houston Chapter.
